1. What Do You Know About Our Company Korn Ferry?
Korn Ferry was founded in 1969 by Lester B. Korn and Richard M. Ferry in Los Angeles. In the beginning, there was a small office in Century City, Los Angeles, with one employee and one phone. Still, the name on the door said everything: Korn Ferry International. The first client of Korn Ferry was a local plastics manufacturing company. At the time, Korn Ferry was one of many US firms that worked with ex-pats, helping them relocate to the United States. Korn Ferry’s first big contract came in late 1970 when a major U.S. corporation hired the firm to help with a hiring event. The firm’s founder, Lester Korn, happened to be at the airport when the event was taking place, and he was struck by how poorly it was being handled. He approached the organizers, pitched his expertise, and soon landed the contract. That was the start of Korn Ferry’s corporate business. It started offering organizational and leadership training as well as other development programs.

I have 5 years of experience in the marketing and consulting field. I worked on several projects, in different environments, from small companies to big corporations. I know it is a must in any company because people expect high-quality service from their providers.
As a customer, you must be satisfied with your provider and be able to communicate with them to resolve any problems that may arise.
As a provider, you must ensure that your customers receive all the attention required and are satisfied with your services.
8. How Do You Handle A Difficult Client?
I am very good at listening to clients and understanding their problems. I like to think of myself as a problem solver, and I am always looking for ways to improve my work and increase customer satisfaction. I am very detail-oriented, and I pay attention to every little thing.
If there is an urgency, I jump right on it and do it. I am very responsible and reliable, and I always follow through with what I say I am going to do.
9. What Methods Do You Use To Identify Your Client’s Needs?
I first look at what the client is trying to achieve, and then I try to figure out how I can help them achieve that goal. I put a lot of questions to understand his need. Based on his answers, and my expertise, I’m providing the best solution.
For example, if the client wants to improve their sales performance, I will start to analyze and define methods to optimize their sales process. The next step is to implement the solution identified.
10. How Do You Structure Your Approach When Solving Those Needs?
I would start by finding out what kind of problems they are facing. Then I would look at the situation and figure out how to solve it. The main thing I look for is how they might be able to improve their business processes so that they can achieve their goals.
11. How Do You Ensure That You Provide The Best Possible Service To Your Client?
When I’m working on a project for a client, I always try to make sure that I am providing them with the best service possible. I analyze and define different possibilities and how to implement them. Afterward, I sort them out and think again, from a different perspective, if the solution identified could help them achieve their goals more efficiently and effectively so that the client can get the results required.
12. Describe How You Would Explain A Complex Or Technical Issue To A Client.
When I start working on the project, I will first conduct the due diligence, research, background check, and other required tasks. After that, I will meet the client to understand their requirements and to start working on the project. During the project, I will keep updating the client on the progress and answering their queries.
Working with a client of any background and understanding level becomes very easy if you know how to keep your client informed. It doesn’t matter if you are working with a client from a technical background or without technical understanding; you can always find a way to explain something simply.
13. Can You Walk Me Through Your Process When Sizing A Market?
When I’m sizing a market, I do a lot of research to find out what people are doing in that industry. Then I try to figure out how many people are in that industry and how much money they make. When doing this research, I also try to find out exactly what the market will look like when it is fully developed so that I can make sure that I am providing solutions for it at the right time.
14. Describe Your Process When Researching A Company Or Industry.
When researching a company or industry, I try to find as much information about it as possible. I tried to find out how many employees they have, how much they are paid, what services they provide, and what the sales of those services are. If the company is publicly traded, then I look up its stock price and see if it has been going up or down. If it has been going down, then I know that there may be some problems in the business that need to be addressed by the owners.
15. What Is Something That You Always Do Before You Start Working On A Project?
I research the project details before beginning work on it; to ensure that I understand all the requirements and that I have the right team and budget to complete the project on time. I am creating a list of all the important tasks and prioritizing them. This way, I know for sure that I will not forget any important details.
16. What Is Something You Would Like Your Clients To Know About You?
I want my clients to know that if they hire me, they are getting a very experienced consultant who will work hard for them and fight for them in court if necessary. When working with a consultant such as myself, they need to remember that there may be times when their case is not going well, and they may need help from me. They can consider me a very close friend, ready to help.

A good consultant must have an upbeat personality and a professional attitude. It must be open-minded and be able to work in a team. It is also vital to know, how to communicate with others and make them feel comfortable. He knows how to listen to the customer’s queries and how to help him implement the best solution. And you must be able to work under pressure and be able to handle stressful situations.

Quality consultants understand their roles, in which the client is the lead. Consultants work as members of a team, not as individuals. Achieving a client’s success is the only way to build a long-term business relationship.
A skilled consultant can provide practical answers while integrating strategy and tactics. They can create an action plan that is relevant today and sustainable tomorrow.
20. What Are The Most Common Mistakes That You See Consultants Make?
One of the most typical mistakes, made by consultants is failing to identify that they are in a business partnership. You are not an employee of your client; you collaborate with them rather than for them.
Another common mistake is to concentrate on the solution while ignoring the acceptance. If this is 0, the result will also be zero. Often, it appears that an easy solution with a high level of acceptance is more beneficial than a perfect solution. A subject matter expert will attempt to find a complex solution for others to accept, to prove his expertise.
21. What Are Your Long-Term Goals As A Consultant?
My long-term goals as a consultant are to make sure that I am always improving my skills and knowledge in this field so that I can help my clients in the best way possible. I want to grow in my career, learn new things, and help others around me grow. I want to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace by actively challenging bias and discrimination whenever I see it and taking a stand to create a more inclusive culture. I want to create a good balance between professional and personal activities.
22. What Advice Do You Have For People Who Want To Be Consultants?
Pay close attention to the details. This way we create confidence with clients by delivering error-free solutions that prove our expertise and the strength of our proposals. Make sure that there are no language, spelling, or arithmetic errors in your work because it will reflect on your entire team.
Don’t be Afraid to Ask (Good) Questions. Asking questions is crucial to how a consultant works. Questions ensure that you understand the tasks you are requested to do and the problems that your client is experiencing. Never be scared to clarify your concerns.
Ask for help. You should develop the ability to solve problems quickly and creatively. In consulting, you will be asked to solve problems that may be new to you. There is almost certainly someone who has done what you are striving to accomplish before and can guide you in getting the solution.
During my time at the company, I learned how to work with people who have different backgrounds, work styles, and preferences, which has allowed me to form meaningful connections with my team members and has also allowed me to learn how to work with a variety of customers. With time, I have become more confident and comfortable with these different types of people and learned how to best work with them to create valuable connections.

The best way to prepare for any interview is to practice. The best way to practice is by talking about your targets. Know as many details about them as you can. Be able to discuss different aspects of their business and environment. This was the way I answered all questions confidently and knowledgeably.
